The G.R.I.N. Process

Beautiful design is only as good as the system that builds it.

Most residential interior projects go wrong in the same places: a brief that was never properly understood, materials specified without considering how the family actually lives, an execution phase managed through goodwill and WhatsApp, and a handover that arrives late, over budget, and slightly different from what anyone imagined.

The G.R.I.N. Process was built to prevent that. It is a four-stage system — Get to Know, Recommend, Imagine, Navigate — designed to take your home from first conversation to handover with your peace of mind intact throughout.

Get to Know

The Deep Dive

Before colour palettes, we study how you live.

This is not a style questionnaire. It is a structured conversation — sometimes two — about your household's routines, the way different family members use different rooms, your storage realities, your maintenance bandwidth, what you have tried in previous homes and why it did or did not work.

We ask about the things most design briefs skip: Where do bags land when someone walks in the door? Which room does the family actually spend time in versus which one is supposed to be the main living room? Is the dining table used daily or only when guests come? How much natural light does the bedroom get in winter?

The answers to these questions shape every decision that follows. A home designed around how you actually live is a fundamentally different thing from a home designed around how you imagine you might live.

We also study the physical conditions of your home at this stage — orientation, room proportions, natural light at different times of day, existing elements worth keeping, structural constraints. Delhi NCR's climate is factored in from the first conversation: the cold winters, the dust, the heat load on west-facing rooms, the humidity during monsoon.

What you get from this stage: a shared understanding between you and the studio of what your home needs to be — not aesthetically, but functionally and physically.

Recommend

The Curation

Once we understand how you live, we build the brief that makes your home possible.

This stage covers three things:

Specialist matching. Pixy G.R.I.N. works with a curated network of craftspeople, vendors, and specialist contractors. At this stage, we identify which of them are right for your specific project — the joinery requirements, the flooring, the kitchen, the specialist finishes. You do not manage these relationships. We do.

Material specification. Every material recommended for your home is selected with your household's actual life in mind. How much foot traffic does the hallway get? Are there children or pets? How often is the kitchen used seriously? Materials are not chosen from a mood board — they are engineered to your climate, your family, and your maintenance reality. A beautiful stone floor that requires monthly sealing is the wrong recommendation for most Delhi NCR households. We make the right one.

Design direction. On our site, we have written about a range of residential aesthetics — not as a menu to choose from, but as a way of giving language to things that are often hard to articulate. By the end of this stage, we have a clear direction for your home's design — arrived at through what we have learned about your household, not through a style quiz.

What you get from this stage: a design brief, a recommended team, a material direction, and a clear picture of what the project will involve in time and cost — before anything is committed.

Imagine

The Vision

You walk through your home before anything is built.

Photorealistic 3D renders of every key space let you see the finished result — not as an approximation, but as a detailed, accurate visualisation of the materials, furniture, lighting, and spatial proportions of the actual room.

This stage is where the design is refined. You see what the living room looks like with the sofa at that scale. You see how the light falls in the bedroom at different times of day. You see whether the kitchen layout works the way you imagined. Changes at this stage cost time. Changes during execution cost money. The Imagine stage exists to make sure every significant decision is made here, not on site.

The design package produced at this stage includes:

  • Detailed spatial plans and elevations for every room
  • Material and finish specifications
  • Furniture and fixture schedules
  • Lighting plan
  • Kitchen and wardrobe design drawings
  • A complete scope of work for execution

What you get from this stage: complete clarity on what your home will look like and exactly what it will take to build it.

N

Navigate

The Execution

We manage the build. You make decisions. That is the division of labour.

Navigate is the stage most interior projects handle poorly — the gap between a beautiful design and a well-executed home. The G.R.I.N. Process closes that gap with structured operating procedures and multi-point technical checklists at every phase of construction and installation.

In practice, this means:

  • A single point of contact for every vendor and contractor on your project
  • Scheduled site visits and quality checks at defined milestones
  • Regular updates without you having to ask
  • Clear escalation when something is not right — and a plan to fix it
  • A handover that matches what was designed, not a negotiated approximation of it

Timelines are set at the outset and defended throughout. When something affects the schedule, you are told immediately and given an honest revised date — not reassurance.

What you get from this stage: a finished home that matches what was designed, delivered when it was promised, with no surprises at handover.

How Long Does It Take?

Every project is different. A 3BHK apartment in Noida and a South Delhi bungalow are not the same in scope, complexity, or execution time. We give you a specific timeline at the end of the Recommend stage — after we have understood your home and your brief — not a generic estimate before we know what we are dealing with.

What we can say: we do not give timelines we cannot defend, and we do not accept scope that we cannot execute to the standard the process requires.

Where We Work

We design homes across Delhi NCR — Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida.

Where It Starts

The discovery call is a 30-minute conversation — no pitch, no presentation, no commitment. We ask about your home and how your household lives in it. You ask whatever you want to know about us and the process.

If there is a fit, we explain what the next step looks like. If there is not, we will say so.
